The Table below shows the Top ALL WEATHER Trainers over the 2003 ALL WEATHER Racing Season. It lists the number of wins against the number of rides, shows this as a percentage, the number of place rides achieved, the winning money won and the total money won, and lastly the amount of money won or lost with a £1 stake on each ride.
There are 3 All Weather Tracks in the UK. Lingfield, Kempton & Wolverhampton. All 3 tracks are different and as a result certain trainers are specialists on one type of surface. At Lingfield Gerard Butler is the most successful of the trainers. At Southwell David Barron is the most successful. At Wolverhampton Nick Littmoden is the most successful. Another thing to be wary of is horses switching from one surface to another. The Polytrack at Lingfield is the best surface. There is little kickback so horses can win the race from off the pace as well as from front running. At Southwell the Fibresand gives heavy kickback so it favours front runners. The Wolverhampton track is less predictable than the other two venues. The Fibresand varies meeting to meeting depending on the amount of rain there as been and the way the track has been prepared. Sometimes the centre is the best place to be, but other times it is best to be wide. The draw is important, and it is best to watch the first 2 races to see how the track runs.
